Carpool Services

A Service Area in the Department of Public Safety

SDSU police department, campus services, areas of service

Faculty and Staff are encouraged to carpool to campus at every opportunity. SDSU has implemented the SDSU Carpool Program for faculty and staff, which provide incentives for this program.

What is Required?

All faculty and staff who wish to carpool are required to register with Parking Services by filling out the Carpool Registration Form. This form will be required three times a year for Fall, Spring and Summer semesters.

What are the Benefits?

All faculty and staff who register with Parking Services will only be required to purchase one F/S permit per carpool. Registrants will also be given an SP 700 permit to allow for easy access parking, which is located on the first floor of PS 1 and PS 4.

Frequently Asked Questions?

  • What if one of our carpoolers has to drive their own car one day; how do they get a permit?

If someone in your registered carpool must drive separately they will be required to go to the Parking Information Booth and purchase a one day F/S permit for $5.

  • What if we forgot the permit in the other car?

If you left your registered F/S or SP 700 permit in another carpool vehicle you will be required to go the Parking Information Booth and obtain a free F/S permit. There will be a list of all carpool participants at this location. However, you will not be given a replacement SP 700 for the day.

  • What if we forgot the permit in the other car and we got a ticket?

If you left your registered F/S or SP 700 permit in another carpool vehicle, you did not go to the Parking Information Booth, and you parked in F/S or SP 700 only, appeal the citation and the ticket will be reduced for "Failure to Display".
